Remembrance Day….

Posted in Life on November 11th, 2005 by Michael

So today we have Remembrance Day and it is a bit odd for me to “celebrate” it…. I mean ultimately what this focuses the most around is the second world war, the last “good” war if you believe people out there.

I guess it depends on how you look at war or the army. I am maybe a cynic, but I do believe that there is a need for an army, but I also believe that there is an even bigger need to control it, history is full of examples where there was force being used when unnecessary (Vietnam as one example) where the ones in power are afraid (October Revolution) etc.

So, I guess I rather remember all the “collateral damage” today and hope I never have to come even close to something similar (or my kids, should I ever have any).
