My first forray into blogging must have been back in 2002, I had just been laid off by RIM and had some time on my hands so I played around with the then cool MovableType. I didn’t really see anything in it though and so it pretty much lay dormant until mid 2003 when I started to write a bit more, but I didn’t really “get into the spirit” until 2004.

When in 2004 MovableType changed its license I stuck around with the old version for a while longer but the comment spam alone quickly became a problem, so I ended up migrating to Wordpress which was a bit scary at first and cumbersome (no multiple sites, still not as of June 2006) and blogging sort of took off for me then.

Why rants? Because I like to rant, it isn’t a very personal “diary” type blog (though I admit at times it turns into it… Guess we’re all humans. But I like to at least get my opinions out there, and message boards and news net aren’t really all that great…

And then of course there is the idea of being immortal. Thanks to the Internet Archive.

So here I am, ranting away into the loud room that is the internet, and occasionally I am even being heard.
