Some people still get it right.

This sort of gives me a bit of hope that someone may still see the light. Olberman really seems to be the counter weight to FoxNews these days, and it seems more people are listening in now.

I think I cross my fingers, watch it, it’s worth it.

Roadtrip

Posted in Life, Photos on August 26th, 2006 by Michael

I did a bit of a road trip today, hadn’t moved the car in over two months, and that, unfortunatly, is a problem.

The car has some problem in the wiring, which results in the engine stalling out and it can’t keep the minimum RPM when idling. I hope that this is not really in the wiring, rather a problem with resetting the computer. Usually longer driving should have reset it, but it didn’t (in return I got the “check engine” light on. Crap, if it is in the wiring I am probably out $1500, which I don’t have right now.

But enough of the bad, here are some photos I took today. Click for full size.

Are you gonna fix that?

Raising the Canopy

I am still not quite certain if they were really trying to take off or just teach lessons, but it still makes for a nice shot:

My Nemesis

Posted in Life, Photos on August 25th, 2006 by Michael

This seagull is driving me nutty. S/He shows up at all odd times and then screams for hours on end. Screaming back at him / her shuts him / her up for a bit but then they continue on.

I need a bow an arrow….

False Creek Barge

Another Photo taken in recent days:

False Creek Barge

This is one of the barges that the concrete factory on Granville Island uses.

The system they employ is pretty nifty, they anchor the barge out in English Bay where another ship comes in, fills it up, then the tug boat drags the raw materials to Granville Island where they are unloaded and turned into cement that is then used all across town.

Soda Bottle

I have found myself utterly fascinated with those “old style” Soda bottles. Not only do those bottles have character, but the Soda in it is good too. Even though the Bar Code is a bit irritating.

Soda Bottle

I just wished that Cola would go back to Glass Bottles, they had character, the new plastic ones are just lacking something (and yes, there are good reasons to use plastic, cheaper, lighter etc.).
