That’s too funny. Got this on “Kernenergie-online.de” as a Javascript alert:

Kleineres Problem mit der Website

http://www.kernenergie-online.de

Probably not half as funny if you don’t read German ;)

And a bit later I got this:

AUTOMATISCHE NOTABSCHALTUNG
unserer Website www.kernenergie-online.de

In unserer nuklearbetriebenen InHouse-Stromversorgung ist
ein kleinerer Stfall aufgetreten. Unsere EDV-Systeme
sind deshalb inzwischen leider vollst舅dig ausgefallen.

Wir arbeiten fieberhaft an einer Reparatur und an einer
Dekontamination unseres Betriebsgel舅des.

Bitte besuchen Sie uns demn臘hst wieder im Internet.

I have the feeling a joker has cracked the website :)

My new place not only has a great view on English Bay, but also on the garbage that the restaurants here produce (more precisely the garbage bins) and gee, they fill those up with all kinds of crap within a day…. Boxes, and other stuff….

This is truly scary, we’re living in a society of Garbage.

Odd People….

…. are living in this building…..

Just came back and saw three (asian) girls move out…. In the middle of the night. Wonder if they are “bolting”? I mean seriously, who moves out at 11 at night?

Looks like it’s back…

… the car that is, though to my surprise they put it “diagonally” in the parking spot. I have no idea how they pulled that one off. Better go and move it in the correct way before someone really dings the car.

All well, ends well, eh?

Oh, and what did I do while my car went for a ride? Took a nap. Was good. Should do that more often.

Just this kind of month

[Now listening to: Yes - Long Distance Runaround & The Fish]

Went for a stroll in the pissing rain, only to find out upon my return that my car was towed from my parking spot at my building.

What had happened?

Well, first of all it was the property manager who informed me about the misfortune of my car. It seems that when I moved in here on the 2nd they forgot to mark my parking spot off as “taken” and thought it was still available. So someone else was going to take it and, oh behold, my car was parked there. Who’d thunk.

One would have thought the Alberta license plate sort of tipped them off, but oh no. So when I walked into the building they informed me that my car was towed but they would get it back at no charge for me (now that was nice, I didn’t even had to pay for it).

Okay, am being sarcastic now, but I just had to laugh it off, at least I didn’t had anywhere to go today.

It sort of is a real good “close out” for the rest of my month, but I am far beyond worrying about pity things like this, there are more important things to do then worry about wrongly towed cars these days (do I sound smug or what).

Of course, for the next half hour everybody in the property management office was showing up at my door trying to apologize profoundly for their mistake.

[Now listening to: Leonard Cohen - Tower of Song]

I am getting into severe space problems on my Music HDD. My PowerMac has two 250GB drives and one of them was put to exclusive music duty around nine months ago in order to keep at least one disk somewhat useful.

Well, I am fast approaching the limit of what that drive can hold. I can’t remember the last time I was using a CD in my one CD player (even in the car I am using the iPod), so all of my stuff has been ripped and quite a lot at higher than 128K bitrates.

So now, for the last two days or so I am going through some stuff and downsample it to 128K, mainly stuff where I don’t really care (aka, “boom-boom” music). Takes forever though. Webcasts are downsampled too, simply because they are large and it doesn’t really make a lot of sense to have those at higher bitrates…. So far I was able to reclaim 10GB. Wow, a lot, eh?

Fun for the whole family.

Wow…

Lay’s Curry Chips

[Currently listening to: Dead Man's Rope from the album "Sacred Love" by Sting]

Something I had to try: Curry Flavoured Lay’s chips…. and they are actually tasty.

It is of course not “curry” curry, rather the powdered kind, but still. No acidity like their Ketchup flavour. Personally me like, maybe not always, but from time to time quite eatable.

Cafe Artigiano Latte

Posted in Coffee on April 22nd, 2006 by Michael

There is no lack of coffee houses in Vancouver. I think I read once that there are more coffee houses per capita in Vancouver than in any other city in the world (hard to believe, having been to Vienna).

May it as it be. Cafe Artigiano makes one of the smoothes lattes I had in North America yet. It is really really good. Beats Starbucks easily (and is only slightly more expensive) not to say more drinkable.

Highly recommendable.
